LAUREL IMER RESPONDS TO THE LEAKED SUPREME COURT
DRAFT OPINION ON ROE v. WADE
Golden, CO -- Today, Republican candidate for Colorado’s 7th Congressional District, Laurel Imer, issued a statement regarding the unprecedented public disclosure of the Supreme Court’s internal deliberations on Roe v. Wade, which included an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito:
“With this judicial breach, it appears that the Radical Left Democrats are determined to overturn every sacrosanct tradition in our government, opting for civil unrest and conflagrating issues to serve their extreme agenda.
Disney claims the power to create narratives that promote gender ideology for young children. The Department of Education claims the authority on approving the expenditure of taxpayer money on the implementation of Critical Race Theory to indoctrinate children in our schools. The Department of Homeland Security claims the authority to label and address disinformation for Americans. There’s too much-claimed authority, and not enough American empowerment to engage in our civic duties.
There will undoubtedly be great fanfare from Radical Left Democrats in the days to come regarding this question of moral character. For some, the question is not one of moral character, but profit. Planned Parenthood receives approximately $618 million in taxpayer dollars annually, and as a non-profit organization, earns profits close to a billion dollars each calendar year.
If Roe v. Wade is overturned, the matter of abortion will no longer be decided by unelected judges. Americans will be empowered to engage in civic discourse with elected officials at the state level, which would empower outcomes that reflect the will of the people. However, Democrats aren’t interested in seeing Americans engage in self-governance at the local level, and this is made evident by efforts to pass legislation that would mandate abortion on demand nationwide.
As the rate of abortion continues to increase, so do the profits. Hundreds of thousands of abortions occur in our nation annually, and it is time for Americans to stop and ponder the value of human life.
Please join me in praying for the Supreme Court Justices as they consider this historic decision. Please join me in praying for the empowerment of Americans in deciding how to value the life of our unborn through expanded state government authority and limited federal bureaucracy.”
